State Representative Daniel P. Troy (D-Willowick) has been honored as the Ohio Chamber of Commerce's Democratic Legislator of the Year for 2023. This recognition underlines his dedication to bipartisan solutions and promoting economic growth, as he resumes his role in the Ohio House following previous service and assumes significant roles in legislative committees.

"I am honored to receive this award from representatives of Ohio's business community," said Troy, according to Ohio House of Representatives. "I remain committed to working on commonsense, bipartisan solutions to expand opportunity, grow jobs and invest in Ohio's future."

According to a press release, Rep. Troy, who served in the Ohio House during the 80s and 90s, currently holds pivotal positions as the Ranking Member of the House Ways & Means Committee and a member of the House Finance Committee. His expertise in budgeting and taxation are key assets in these roles.

The same press release states that Troy champions increased childcare availability, underscoring its crucial role in workforce participation. Furthermore, his bipartisan approach has facilitated the passage of legislation that benefits Ohio's environment, education, and economy.

As per The Ohio Chamber of Commerce's website, this organization was established in 1893 and serves as a principal advocate for free enterprise and economic growth within the state. It represents over 8,000 businesses of varying sizes at the Statehouse with a volunteer board comprising 66 business leaders. A team of 19 staff members, including lobbyists and membership specialists, actively promotes a pro-business agenda while providing essential services to support their members' business operations.
